Cats are the purest animal but they carry one sort of disease which is communicated only through the cats’ excrement. Some animals like swine and wandering birds or animals eat that excrement, then the disease is communicated when these sorts of animals or birds are eaten by man who catches blindness.

This means that the cat is never to blame simply because it buries its excrement. Only man is to blame because he eats the meat of those animals that feed in these dirty things. These diseases are numerous and the danger of these buried things is little compared with other things. Here’s the wisdom behind this Hadith of the Prophet “that the Prophet (Peace be upon him) (prohibited eating the meat or drinking the milk of wandering animals or birds).”*

* (The wandering animal or bird; is that whose food is mostly dirty and impure things. This sort of animal or bird must not be eaten and its milk can’t be drunk unless kept away from dirt and impure things for several days).
